Submission Process

Simultaneous submissions will be deleted unread, without response. If your manuscript is not complete, do not submit a submission package to us, simply query our interest with a synopsis.

We are looking for submissions for our new e-Lit line of ebooks.  We are paying 25.00 for accepted horror novelettes of 9000-14,999 words and 50.00 for novellas of 15,000 – 40,000 words.  Send your stories to submissions@maydecemberpublications.com or contact Denise we questions at dlbrown@maydecemberpublications.com

Open Anthologies

 

First Time Dead Vol 3

 

A new anthology is opened. We are accepting submission for a new anthology titled “First Time Dead Vol 3”. If you have never been published in horror and have always wanted to write a zombie story, then now is your chance and you have time. Deadline for this will be January 31, 2012.

 

The story must be between 3000 and 10,000 words and should be emailed to submissions@maydecemberpublications.com attached as a .doc (preferred) or .rtf   Please send in your submissions using 12 font Times New Roman, single spaced, justified.  No hard breaks between paragraphs (hitting return twice to break between paragraphs). Following paragraphs can be started on the next line.  Scene breaks or changes in point of view need to be separated by a hard break, centered asterisks (* * *) .

The title page should contain your contact info and word count.

 

Steampunk titled:  Clockworks Orchard: Rivets and Rain

A new anthology is opened. We are accepting submission for a new anthology titled SPIDERS!.  So many people are scared of spiders…scare the readers!  Deadline for this will be April 5th, 2012.

Realms of the Undead

A new anthology is opened. We are accepting submission for a new anthology Realms of the Undead. Only 4 stories will be accepted for this one and can be anything UNDEAD.  Deadline for this will be May 30th, 2012 and pays 50.00 per story accepted.

 

The story must be between 15,000and 30,000 words and should be emailed to submissions@maydecemberpublications.com attached as a .doc (preferred) or .rtf   Please send in your submissions using 12 font Times New Roman, single spaced, justified.  No hard breaks between paragraphs (hitting return twice to break between paragraphs). Midnight Movie Creature Feature Vol 2.

A new anthology is opened. We are accepting submission for a new anthology Midnight Movie Creature Feature vol 2. You should probably read MMCF vol 1. We are looking for unique, quirky, b-movie esque, and even the truly terrifying.  If it is something that the guys at MST3k would make fun of, then it is definitely the story for us.   Deadline for this will be June 30th, 2012.

Full Length Novels

If you have a full length  novel, send a query letter and chapter by chapter synopsis of no more than two pages, introducing yourself and  your story.  If interested, we will ask you to send in the first 2 chapters.  If we are still interested we will ask you to send in the complete story,  If your story is accepted, we will send you a contract and more information.

Send your query letters or questions to novels@maydecemberpublications.com with ‘query letter’ in the subject line.

Please send in your submissions using 12 font courier, single spaced.  The title page should contain your contact info and word count.  In the header, you should have page number x of x on the left hand side, the title or shortened title in the middle, and your name and email address on the right.

Please send in your completed short story but DO NOT send in your completed full length novel until asked for.  If you send in your novel without following guidelines and being asked for it, it will be rejected without being read.
